Our History

  • The fund was established for the purposes of providing financial support for Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDIs) to gain access to fully a funded quality higher education in recognised Universities and Technical Colleges around South Africa in efforts to alleviate poverty, restore dignity and improve the overall quality of life for underprivileged South Africans.
  • Through well planned investments and a bit of luck, the trust has been able to earn enough interest and dividends from the investments to sustain its business operations without any new capital injections from year 1992.

Since year 1991, the organization has provided bursaries and financial support to over 6 500 graduates in and around South Africa including doctors, lawyers, MBAs and some of highly influential private sector as well as public sector leaders.

Apart from bursary awards, NEET has also provides students with continued couching, mentorship and support during the course of their studies by integrating them in our innovative Student Management Portal (SMP), as well as Internships and job placements once they have graduated.
